Aaliyah Dana Haughton came into the limelight in 1994 when she dropped her debut album Age Ain't Nothing More Than A Number. When she was just 15 years old, the album earned Gold status. R. Kelly was a major influence on this collaboration which put the singer into the limelight. She collaborated in 1996 alongside Jermaine Dupri as well as Timbaland to release her second album One In A Million which featured the hit number one single If Your Girl Only Knew. Aaliyah was a well-known R&B artist after her album's release. Aaliyah appeared alongside legendary Jet-Li, the famous martial artist in Romeo Must Die (2000) which was an action-packed romance film. She got this role when she was spotted by producer Joel Silver at an awards show. She was in 2002 when she appeared as involved in the Anne Rice-produced movie about horror Queen of the Damned. She then got into the Matrix by playing Zee as Zee in The Matrix Sequels having also performed on The Matrix Reloaded in 2003 as well as The Matrix Revolutions in the same year. Aarti Magnumdar is her formal name, but she has also used Aarti Magumdar. Though she started her career in film and TV with a few minor performances, her acting career picked up growth in the latter half of 2000s. Some of her most notable roles include Grey's Anatomy, Suits and Leverage. In addition, she was a part of several commercials including Volvo and other major automobile brand names. Her home is in Los Angeles with her husband and daughter. She continues to pursue her acting profession.
