Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name for Winona Laura Hoowitz. She was born within Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her for the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz was her father and Cynthia Palmer, his mother are both authors as well as editors. Ryder's parents are both Jewish. Ryder believes herself to be Jewish. Ryder is the youngest sister of Uria, and has half-siblings Jubal & Sunyata. In the year Ryder was seven, her family relocated from Mendocino County, California. Mendocino County California. At the time, there were no electric lights. Television books were the only way for Ryder to pass the time. Eventually, she began to read extensively. Ryder began taking acting lessons at the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983, when she was 12 years old. Lucas, a 1986 film which was her first big role. Ryder was 15 at the time she was cast. Ryder experienced bullying at the high school. Her hope was that acting might change the situation. But it wasn't to come to happen. However, she continued to pursue her dreams. She got her break through Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in 1988. Ryder was able to continue her successful parts in a variety of films. Ryder was nominated twice for Academy Awards one for her part as a character in The Age of Innocence (1993).
